Biographical / Historical
David van Diest Skilling '55 (1933-2021) was a Colorado College alumni and member of the college Board for many years. He served as the chairman of the board and was honored as a lifelong trustee. He was also awarded an honorary doctorate from the college and taught courses on business and strategy in the Department of Economics and Business.
Professionally, Skilling was one of the leaders in the creation of today's information age. When TRW inc. was developing a personal information and credit reporting business, he served as Senior Vice President of the company. TRW inc. was sold to Experian in 1996 and Skilling became the President and CEO of Experian after the transition. Skilling served on the boards of Lamson & Sessions, American Business Bank, McData Corporation, Great American Bank, and First American Finance. He was a popular speaker on matters of business and strategy.
