Abstract
Clyde A. Duniway was the first president of Colorado College with an academic background, since he was not, like his predecessors, a Congregational minister. Duniway held an A.B. from Cornell and an A.M. & Ph.D. from Harvard. He taught eleven years at Stanford and was president of Wyoming University and Montana University prior to his appointment at CC.
