Scope and Contents
Series I contains administrative materials produced by the Colorado College Music Department. The records cover the activities of student ensembles, the Colorado College Music Press, and Seay Music Library.The series also contains correspondence, notes, memos, budgets, accounts, and materials for Summer Session music programs directed by Max Lanner and Earl Juhas.
Series II is a gathering of news articles, publications, and programs related to Albert Seay (1916-1984), a Colorado College professor, instrumentalist, and musicologist who played a formative role in the history of the Department of Music. A collection of obituaries and materials for Seay's memorial/ establishment of the Seay Music Library, are also included.Series III is comprised of Colorado Opera Festival organizational materials and opera related correspondence.
Series IV includes photographs of Department of Music students and staff, in addition to oversized prints.
